Countryfile SHOCKER: Adam Henson stunned by horse semen collection procedure 'He's keen'

The teatime family show was explaining how one company is future-proofing special breeds of horses.

Shropshire-based Stallion AI services helped out with the task after it was revealed that eggs and semen are in storage from 70 horses across the 13 breeds, but that 350 are needed in total.

Founder and Managing Director of Stallion AI Services, Tullis Matson, discussed artificial insemination with host Adam Henson before inviting him to come and watch an Eriskay pony use a dummy.

Adam explained: “Collection is a much more basic process, and Tuffy here seems more than up for playing his part. So what’s happening now with the Eriskay?”

Tallis replied: “We’re just about to carry out a collection. He’s about to jump on the dummy and hopefully we’re going to collect a sample off him that we can freeze in a minute.”

Awkwardly standing beside the pony, Adam joked: “Well he’s keen isn’t he! And so by using this technology and your investment here, you’ll be able to get lots of foals from this Stallion. It’s just brilliant… and he seems to be enjoying himself.”

Viewers instantly took to social media following the broadcast, with some fans of the show surprised that it was aired before the watershed.

One viewer tweeted: “Surprised #countryfile isn’t on after the watershed this week,” as another posted: “Seeing that horse hump it’s own version of a fleshlight just put me right off me tea! #CountryFile #NoNeed.”

A third wrote: “Christ did you just see that in #countryfile? A horse sh@ggin OMG and it’s BEFORE the watershed,” as another said: “It’s a Sunday. It’s 7.15pm. And I’m watching a real horse blow its load into a fake horse. Of course it’s #countryfile.”

A fifth noted: “Four people standing around talking very casually as a horse dry humps a horse-shaped leather couch. #countryfile,” while another added: “I’m all for protecting rare breeds but seeing Tuffy mounting the dummy while the #countryfile presenters stood behind chatting about semen put me right off my crumpets.”

continues next Sunday on at 6.30pm.
