Coronation Street spoilers: Kate and Rana torn apart in TRAGIC abduction scenes

Ever since Rana (played by Bhavna Limbachia) revealed her affair with Kate Connor (Faye Brookes) to her husband Zeedan (Qasim Akthar) everything has been up in complete turmoil for her in ITV’s Coronation Street.

Rana’s parents resolved to set up a marriage contract that would see their daughter and her husband stay together in exchange for money.

However, the marriage of convenience is unsurprisingly not working out, and things are about to take a turn for the worse.

Rana’s devout Muslim parents will do anything to save her reputation, and that includes kidnapping.

They lie to their daughter, telling her they will be visiting a sick relative in Pakistan, but the ticket is one way.

Kate teams up with Zeedan so they can help the woman they both love while enlisting the help of Rana’s brother Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Melo) and Zeedan’s grandmother Yasmeen (Shelley King).

Pictures from the set show Rana being rushed away by her brother as she is open-mouthed in anguish while Zeedan looks on from the side.

Her parents can be seen in the background as they have their cruel attempt at kidnap thwarted.

Yasmeen can also been seen in the fray as she steps in between Rana and her father.

Another shot shows a distraught Rana being ushered into the car by her brother as she sobs with her plane ticket in hand.

A third snap sees Kate with her arms out stretched as she looks ahead toward the scene.

While the group will manage to save her, Rana’s parents have had enough and disown her.

Rana and Kate’s future is not certain either as they have tried to keep their distance recently.

However, the pair will soon find themselves confessing their love for each other as a shocked Zeedan walks in on them.

Viewers will just have to wait and see if it’s a happy ending for the star-crossed lovers.

Coronation Street continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
