Coronation Street spoilers: Jim and Liz McDonald’s dead daughter ALIVE in comeback twist?

Corrie’s writers have been hard at work on finding a way to bring Jim McDonald (played by Charles Lawson) and his wife, Liz (Beverley Callard) back to the cobbles.

However, what fans didn’t know was that they were planning on bringing back the whole family.

It had been believed that their daughter, Katie, had died at birth, but new evidence proves that this wasn’t the case.

It turns out that Australian actress Hannah Ellis Ryan is going to be playing the role of Katie.

Yet, there’s a twist, she’s now called Hannah and has been living in Australia with her adopted parents.

This news comes via fellow Corrie actor, Katie Ford, who tweeted out a picture of her with her new Aussie co-star.

“So pleased to be filming with the new girl on the block,” wrote Kate.

She then added “Playing Hannah!”

Katie’s character, Tracy Barlow, will be marrying Hannah’s brother, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).

Hannah is set to appear in some of these scenes and is believed to play a big part in Jim’s return story arc.

“We have some amazing stuff with Jim McDonald,” former Corrie boss, Kate Oates, told Metro.co.uk.

“He’s going to be coming back with a lot of resentment because of what Steve did – from his point of view, he has been rotting in prison and no-one cares.”

However, it’s still unsure whether Hannah will be welcomed with open arms.

In other Coronation Street news, Norris Cole’s (Malcolm Hebden) naughty niece could be making a shock arrival on the ITV soap.

Lisa Riley has hinted she’d love to play a role on the soap.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, she explained: “I’ve never done Coronation Street.

“I have openly said, I love the writing for Norris [Cole] – to me it is the best.

“Whoever writes for him is literally a genius, and I’ve always said I would love to be his naughty niece, [who’s been] hidden away, in Blackpool for years.

“If they offered me Norris’ niece – I’d be there.”

Lisa added: “Just because the writing is incredible for him and because he is so good.”

Coronation Street airs Monday on ITV at 7.30pm.
