Coronation Street spoilers: Fans spot HUGE blunder as Bethany Platt admits to lap dancing

Bethany (played by Lucy Fallon) revealed her new secret overnight job during Monday night’s double bill.

After recently being a victim of a grooming storyline, Bethany has now taken on a lap dancing role at Tassels, a local club, under the pseudonym Maddison.

However, when one of the girls at the club was assaulted by a drunk punter, the police were called.

As luck would have it, trainee police officer Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) was on duty during this call, and quickly made his way to the scene at the club.

Bethany’s new colleague and friend Sam (Amy Dolan) was victim to the assault, so Craig’s colleague went to interview her while he spoke to other employees at the club.

Ready to work for the night, Bethany came out of the staff room and was stunned to see her boyfriend interviewing the barman.

Later, Bethany came clean in the club, and Craig was sent home from his shift by his boss.

But some eagle-eyed viewers noticed some extremely obvious blunders during their exchange.

Corrie fans pointed out that Craig should have known who Sam was as he had met her before.

Craig met his girlfriend’s new pal at Roy’s Rolls last week, on the day of Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) and Chesney Brown’s (Sam Aston) wedding.

However, Bethany had lied and told him that Sam was part of a grooming support group.

Viewers also found it incredibly convenient that, whilst training to become a police officer, he was assigned to an incident at the club that his girlfriend worked at.

Fans were quick to comment: “Ah in true soap tradition Craig will now be investigating every crime in Manchester,” while another said: “Ffs the chances of Craig bumping into lap dancer Bethany are a zillion to 1.”

Now that the truth is out about Bethany’s new lap dancing job will Craig stick with her?

Coronation Street continues Wednesday at 7.30pm on ITV.
