Coronation Street: Pat Phelan 'killing spree OVER' as fans back him to be caught first

Coronation Street fans were up in arms this week when they discovered murderer Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre) wasn’t dead – but could he kill again?

Last week viewers were led to believe the killer had plunged into the sea after Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) failed to rescue him off a cliff edge.

But now he’s back, and holed-up in a quaint seaside cottage. Is his killing spree over?

Express.co.uk conducted a poll and viewers voted in their thousands – Pat Phelan should watch out because it’s not good news for the character.

Almost a third of viewers believe Pat Phelan will be caught before he can strike again.

But if he does strike again, Eileen Grimshaw’s probably going to be his next victim.

Could Anna Windass’ son Gary (Mikey North) be the one to stop Phelan in his path?

In new images from the Coronation Street, Gary can be seen arriving at a caravan park with his friend Joel.

Gary, whose mother Anna (Debbie Rush) was wrongly convicted of attempted murder due to Pat’s scheming, will hunt down the villain.

When the pair arrive at Pat’s hideout they spot him taking water back to his caravan.

Just moments before Gary plans to confront killer builder Phelan, Joel panics and chickens out.

According to reports, he was heard shouting out: “He’s a psycho, I’m leaving.”

Speaking about the upcoming storyline, a soap insider told Metro: “The fact that viewers know Phelan is alive will mean there will be a real sense of foreboding over coming weeks.

“They know he is out there somewhere, just waiting to strike.”

They added: “At the moment, there are police everywhere and Phelan’s best option is to stay in hiding with a false name.

“But with so many people he has a score to settle with, there is no doubt that he will be back on the Street before long.

“And the scenes are destined to be explosive and unmissable.”

Coronation Street continues tonight on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
