Coronation Street: Fans MOCK Sinead's quick pregnancy: 'Daniel must have supersonic sperm'

Viewers were clearly baffled by the timing of Sinead’s pregnancy, given that the couple only had sex for the first time a couple of weeks ago.

Their recent steamy scenes even marked the first time full-time student Daniel (played by Rob Mallard) had slept with somebody, prompting some watchers to joke that the character has “supersonic sperm”.

After discovering a positive pregnancy test in Sinead’s (played by Katie McGlynn) bag, Daniel almost instantaneously confronted his girlfriend, immediately assuming the baby was her ex-boyfriend Chesney’s.

But the handsome youngster was in for a shock when Sinead revealed that she and Chesney hadn’t slept together since before Christmas and that the baby was undoubtedly his.

While Daniel appeared to be a little pleased that the baby wasn’t his love rivals, he insisted that the couple drew up a list of pros and cons to help them decide what to do next.

The end result saw a hesitant Daniel reiterate that they were just about able to afford the rent on their small flat and he was still a full-time student without a proper income.

But viewers struggled to look past the fact that the pair had managed to conceive so quickly.

“How’s she pregnant that quick? He only had a go last week,” one mocked.

“I’m actually quite shocked myself. Sinead & Daniel have only been together 5mins. His sperm count must be through the roof. #Corrie,” questioned another.

“If it turns out that Daniel is the father of Sinead’s baby he must have some supersonic sperm. #Corrie,” ranted a further.

Coronation Street returns Tuesday at 7.30pm on ITV.
