Cornwall weather forecast: Met Office predict warm spells ‘above normal’ for May holidays

Cornwall will see thousands of staycationers flock to its sandy beaches during the summer months of 2018.

As the UK’s most southwestern point, the region ends at Land’s End, with the iconic signpost pointing to a number of different destinations.

As staycation holidays look to continue in 2018, the weather forecast for British holidaymakers during the next bank holiday weekend may entice many to head to the coast this May.

The Met Office has predicted much warmer weather.

What is the weather forecast for Cornwall during May bank holiday weekend?

Despite being cooler than the summer months later in the year, the May bank holiday can see great weather nearer the coast.

Showers are to be predicted for the next week with “rain or showers”, although even these will be cut with sunny spells.

The Met Office that “temperatures are likely to be around normal, or perhaps warm at times” towards the weekend.

Leading into June, temperatures are likely to “be above normal” in the first week for the Cornish coast.

James Madden, forecaster for Exacta Weather, said: “Currently June looks like starting on quite a warm and sunny note.”

For Britons heading to Cornwall to chase the good weather this month, the region was voted as one of the happiest places to be in the UK.

A pub lunch in Cornwall was voted the happiest thing to do on holiday, according to The Serviced Apartment Company research.

The BBC weather forecast for the UK predicts there could be another heatwave as soon as next week, thanks to low pressure being pushed by warm west weather.

The average temperature in May is 16 degrees, although this year has been one of the hottest on record.

Last week, the bank holiday temperature exceeded 28 degrees, making it the hottest since the May bank holiday was invented in 1971.

It is also often the driest month with just 54mm of rainfall across the UK, compared to the summer months.

June and August can see over 60mm, despite the warmer weather.

Holidaymakers will have to first plunge through the chill predicted tonight as temperatures plummet.

Rain is expected this week with highs of just 16 degrees following the drop in the east.

Thunder is also expected as well as storms in the southwest of the country.

Sorry to butt in: Hope you don’t mind:
James Madden is NOT a weather forecaster.
He has NO meteorological / scientific qualifications etc.
    There is NO registered company.
He’s a one-man-band operating his fictitious ‘company’ from his apartment in Lancaster.
He has a job elsewhere, nothing to do with the weather.
It’s a scam to make money from you.
His subscription page is not secure and here’s the link http://www.exactaweather.com/eweather4277.html .
Ask yourself, would I pay for this rubbish ?
And then ask yourself, where are his actual weather forecasts ?
    Answer…no where to be seen.
All Madden does is read then rip-off other weather web sites then lies pretending he’s made his own forecast.
And as usual Madden just generalises, he never gives an ACTUAL specific forecast.
Madden posts the same thing almost word for word every week every season every year .
It’s just sensationalism designed to sell his laughable subscriptions !
I and others have repeatedly asked Madden for answers to prove himself , he declines !
    He’s a charlatan and a bare faced liar .
It’s a SCAM be very wary of his CON .
Don’t forget; he’s only after your money.
