The 45-year-old will be presenting a new makeover programme and joked she is tempted to give everyone her trademark “fringe, some black clothes and white lipstick”.
Titled The Makeover Show, the three-part series will see people from all over the UK undergo a complete style overhaul as they get given new looks from some of the best stylists, hairdressers and make-up artists.
In each episode, three people will be given a special makeover in a house in London and Claudia will be with the individuals as they undertake a radical transformation.
As well as changing people’s lives, the BBC series will also explore how simple choices about hair, make-up and clothes can have a huge impact on confidence and body image.
Speaking about her new presenting gig, Claudia said: “I’m thrilled to be taking part. The production team are brilliant and I can’t wait to start.
“Obviously I’d want to give everyone a fringe, some black clothes and white lipstick so thankfully it’s extremely lucky I’m not in charge. I’ll just be there to help.”
Participants undergoing a makeover will all have different reasons for doing so, with some being nominated by friends or family while others are building to a significant event, or are at a major crossroads in their lives.
A premiere date has yet to be revealed for the new show but the BBC has certainly given those at home a huge variation of programmes to watch in the meantime.
The BBC have announced the production of many factual programmes including a one-off film presented by Ian Hislop about the history of immigration into Britain.
There is also a two-part documentary series about the only rehab that allows children to live with their parents and another six-part exploration behind the scenes of the lives of rural vicars in Herefordshire.
Claudia Winkleman will be back to host Strictly Come Dancing alongside Tess Daly this autumn on BBC.
