Chester Bennington's widow SPEAKS OUT on difficult James Corden Carpool Karaoke decision

The Linkin Park singer was due to appear on an upcoming episode of James’ US show, singing some of his chart-topping rock hits with the comedian.

But following his devastating death last month, the CBS show’s host decided it would be distasteful to continue with the original scheduling without consulting the 41-year-old’s family first.

Talinda Bennington posted her gratitude to James on Twitter, saying: “Thank you @JKCorden.”

Speaking to the Associated Press, the Gavin and Stacey star confirmed: “We will approach it in whichever manner his family or the people that were involved in that episode, however they would like it to be handled.

The actor went on to say that for him there was simply no other option, saying: “We will navigate it as delicately as possible and just adhere to whatever wishes they would want because I don’t think there’s any other way we could deal with it. It’s a tragedy.”

When the singer was found hanged at his California home, he left behind his wife and six children – Jamie, 21, Isaiah, 19, Draven, 15, Tyler Lee, 11, and Lily and Lila, seven.

According to reports by US news site TMZ, Chester was laid to rest on July 29 in Palos Verdes, and his funeral took place with close friends and family in an intimate ceremony.

Many celebrities have come forward and paid their respects to the “Numb” singer, including Sir Elton John.

“We lost Chris and then we lost Chester. I met them both briefly and they were two lovely guys,” he shared in his Beats 1 radio show, broadcast on Apple Music.

Sir Elton continued: “Artists are prone to being a little destructive, whether you are an actor or singer or visual artist.”

The 70-year-old also admitted that he agreed with actor Jim Carrey’s opinion on suicide, who had previously come forward about The Hunger Games star Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s death to say that “sometimes, the noise just gets too much”.

The Late Late Show with James Corden airs on CBS in the US, and is subsequently shown on Sky 1.
