Cheating WARNING: Your wife or husband is most likely to cheat after THIS many years

Cheating Britons are responsible for broken hearts and often damaged marriages.

Now it has been revealed how long unfaithful lovers wait before they continue to play the field, and it’s not as long as you would think.

According to website Illicit Encounters, which provides a space for unfaithful partners to find affairs, Britons are only waiting three years before they start sleeping with someone other than their partner.

They claim the “seven-year itch” is a thing of the past – and modern cheaters move on much more quickly.

And it is women who can’t wait for the longest to begin affairs, according to the site.

Of 800 cheaters on the site, the women admitted to waiting only three years and one month before looking for someone else.

Men, on the other hand, waited three years and five months to cheat.

A spokesperson for Illicit Encounters Christian Grant told the Sun: “For some, marriage has become a race, a symbol of social status, a way to show other people that their life is in a better state than theirs.

Then those who rushed to marry to keep up appearances find themselves bored with married life.

“Now you have the husband, the child, and maybe even the house, but, unfortunately, we’re seeing that that’s only bound to end in tears,” Christian adds.

“Behind that facade, the honeymoon period is incredibly short-lived; the seven-year itch is no longer.”

A relationship expert has revealed the signs to watch out for if you’re suspicious of your wife, husband, girlfriend or boyfriend.

Ms. Ward claims there is not just one type of cheater, rather there are three broad categories the behaviour falls into.

These three categories include the Accidental Cheater, the Serial Cheater and the Once Off Cheater.

If you’re ever going to sympathise with a cheater, it’s the accidental one.

So, should you forgive a cheating spouse once they have done the dirty on you?

Forgiving an adulterous spouse may be a waste of time and lead to more heartache as scientists have found those who have been unfaithful once are likely to cheat again.
