Cheap flights: Fly from London to Costa Rica for just £299 return…but there’s a CATCH

Costa Rica is a popular holiday destination choice this year, as travellers want to go off the beaten track and experience a holiday with more to do than just city tours.

So if looking for a last minute bit of sun, holiday-makers can head there themselves with a great last-minute deal.

Thomson is offering some bargain flights for just £299 return with direct flights from London Gatwick. However, the slight catch is that travellers must be available to travel this month to take advantage of the last minute offer.

With flights usually upwards of £600, the crazy deal isn’t one to be missed.

The Central American country is known for its biodiversity and natural environment, with a quarter of the area made of protected jungles and wildlife.

Celebrities including Zac Efron and the Kardashians have even been spotted exploring the exciting country in recent months.

It’s certainly the place for a bit of peace; the most recent Happy Planet Index put them as the most satisfying place to live, as well as the country now being the home of the United Nations University for Peace.

It has something for everyone; for any coffee enthusiasts, it is known as some of the best in the world, with it being one of it’s biggest exports. For nature lovers, experiences such as sea turtle hatching are on offer in most hotels. Otherwise, the sheer scale of some of its volcanoes and waterfalls are a sight to behold.

Whilst a great bargain, Thomson has recently come under fire for its recent failings as a holiday provider.

They’ve been slammed for failing to warn holidaymakers in advance that their 5-star holiday resort was actually unfinished, without providing an alternative hotel for the hundreds of arrivals.

A boy was also badly injured on a Thomson holiday after being hurt by a falling speaker system.

However, travellers can decide whether to take a risk when booking a travel bargain with the provider.
