Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls: Viewers SLAM ‘annoying’ Iwan Thomas

As soon as adventurer Bear left the 10 celebrities stranded on an island in Panama, former Olympian Iwan Thomas nominated himself as leader.

But those watching the Channel 4 show and the sprinter’s fellow survivors slammed him for attempting to be a typical ‘Alpha male’.

In the episode, the 43-year-old tried to take control and told the group they needed to build shelter instead of finding water.

However TV doctor Sara Kayat and stand-up comedian Shazia Mriza quickly shut him down and stated they needed to concentrate on finding water and building a fire in order to survive.

Sara said: “From a medical point of view unless we get enough water I know that our kidneys will pack in.”

Iwan reluctantly backed down and declared they needed to hurry to get drinking water and stay hydrated.

Fans of the survival show blasted the Welsh star as they grew tired with his ways and wrote on Twitter: “Eat Iwan first, i cant deal with him #CelebrityIsland.”

“Legit 10 mins in and Iwan has annoyed me, how da hell am i gonna deal with him throughout the whole series #CelebrityIsland,” said another person.

A third added: “How annoying is Iwan on #CelebrityIsland. He needs to start listening to the girls #girlpower.”

“If I was stuck on an island with Iwan Thomas, I would have taken off into the sea in the first hour #CelebrityIsland,” said one person.

Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas also grabbed the viewers’ attention as his fellow contestants were forced to drag him out of the water when he screamed out in agony.

As fans feared the actor had been bitten by a shark, they were shocked to discover he reacted with an horrific scream due to a cramp.

Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls continues Tuesdays on Channel 4.
