Celebrity First Dates: Waiter causes chaos on Channel 4 special leaving fans in uproar

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! stars Lady Colin Campbell and Joey Essex were among the celebrity line-up taking part in the Stand Up To Cancer special.

Fred Sirieix and his restaurant team had rolled out the red carpet for the stars who had been meticulously matched with their dates.

But just as the dates were getting started, one of the waiters caused a slight bit of chaos among the celebrities by dropping a tray of drinks.

As the First Dates waiter approached the table with a tray of two drinks, he said: “Two sexy beasts.”

However, as he took one glass off the tray, everything fell to the floor, with one glass smashing.

Gogglebox star Sandra Martin, who was on the other side of the restaurant stood up and screamed: “What? What’s going on?”

Joey, who had already jumped up to avoid drinks spilling on him, replied back: “Nothing here. Nothing, nothing!”

Explaining to the restaurant what had happened, the waiter said: “It’s me being clumsy, as per.”

Stunning many viewers at home, Sandra shouted: “I thought it was a rat!”

Embarrassed, the waiter replied: “I wish I could blame that on a rat. I wish I could!”

Joey pleaded with the other daters to return to their meals, saying: “There’s nothing to see here. Everyone can date!”

Fans of the show instantly took to social media following the hilarious moment in the episode.

One viewer tweeted: “You know what rats sound like? Smashing glasses, right? #FirstDates.”

“A rat?! Sandra is comedy gold #firstdates,” posted another.

A third added: “Ways to get a restaurant closed down…. ‘Oh my god. I thought it was a rat’ #FirstDates #SU2C.”

“Judging from her reaction, Sandra must be accustomed to seeing rats in restaurants ! #firstdates,” wrote another.

A fifth said: “Why would it be a rat??? Not the first thing you would think if someone dropped a glass! #FirstDates @sandragogglebox.”

“@sandragogglebox #awesome on #firstdates jumped up thought there was a rat and asking if liked whoo hoo lmao,” chuckled another.

Following the episode, Sandra responded to viewers on Twitter and noted she was “glad to just be herself”.

Stand Up To Cancer airs tomorrow on from 7pm.
