Celebrity Big Brother 2018: All-female house 'most expensive EVER' as bosses splurge

Producers of the Channel 5 series have always sought to install bigger and better furnishings with each new season, and every setup of the Borehamwood bungalow features a brand new theme.

But this year, in keeping with the reality competition’s monumental decision to showcase an all-female line-up for the Centennial anniversary since women won the right to vote, they are said to have taken decorating further than ever before.

The latest crop of bold personalities will be able to enjoy sumptuous bedrooms, a lavish bathroom and even an outdoor sauna for the first time ever.

According to The Sun, a show insider said: “Producers pulled out all the stops to make sure this year’s house is the quirkiest and plushest viewers and housemates will have seen.

“This series is a special one, given the fact only women will be entering the house to star with in a salute to the centenary of women’s suffrage.”

“They wanted the house to be a standout one,” the source added.

The 21st series of the long-running show debuts with journalist Rachel Johnson, Boris Johnson’s sister, a host of rumoured contestants including Made in Chelsea star Ashley James and Loose Women presenter Katie Price, according to the newspaper.

While the initial band of housemates will be all women, producers have confirmed that male celebrities will be added throughout the course of the series.

The latest controversial character to have fans getting excited for the launch is Conservative politician Ann Widdecombe, after she was spotted at a hotel near the Elstree studios.

The 70-year-old former MP is known for her extreme views and fiery nature, so fans are convinced she will bring the drama to Britain’s most famous house.

Celebrity Big Brother airs tonight at 9pm on Channel 5.
