Known for his role as EastEnders’ Barry Evans – who met a sticky end being pushed off the cliff by his wife Janine Butcher (played by Charlie Brooks) 13 years ago – Shaun was forced into an unfortunate situation on his first night in the Borehamwood bungalow.
After failing his first secret task in the diary room, Big Brother gave the helpless housemate strict instructions to choose a killer nomination for Tuesday’s first eviction.
But in a moment of panic, he chose fiery 32-year-old Marissa as his unsuspecting victim, who was deeply unimpressed when she discovered what he’d done.
While Shaun desperately tried to mend broken bridges with the reality star, it didn’t seem to matter as she delivered her threat.
While she assured the housemates that she wasn’t upset, saying: “It’s okay. I understand, it’s a game,” she later rowed back on her words and admitted that wasn’t the case.
As the pair met in the garden, Marissa shared her feelings with the soap actor.
“I understand it’s a game. I’m not a sensitive person, it is what it is. I’d feel very awkward being in that position as well. I don’t regret what I said and I feel if someone was in my space, I’d feel right to protect myself.”
Shaun seemed anxious trying to explain his actions however, presumably because he’s aware of her lifestyle in the outside world as a “mob wife”.
“When you’re up there and have the pressure to say the name. It’s just really hard. I can’t apologise enough,” he said.
Marissa jokily warned in response: “And if I make it, I swear to god you better not do it again.”
