Celebrity Antiques Road Trip TRAGEDY: Taggart star heartbroken as item is LOST

The former Taggart star picked out a tiny silver purse which contained fascinating photographs of Glasgow inside it and bought it for a minuscule £14.

However, tragedy struck when Alex, along with his antiques dealer Anita Manning, hit the auction room.

The Bargain Hunt regular, 69, told Alex: “That little purse with the photos in it has been lost.”

The 67-year-old actor was gutted, crying out: “Oh no, that was my favourite wee thing.

“I loved that wee thing,” he exclaimed, whilst his competitors Clare Grogan and Paul Laidlaw struggled to hide their glee.

However, it wasn’t all bad news for the pair as the auctioneer’s insurance valued the piece at £75, earning them a tasty profit of £61 before the bidding began.

This follows yesterday’s saucy instalment which saw expert, James Braxton, strip off for a game of Quoits

The traditional game was originally placed in Ancient Greece, so James decided to do as the Romans do and strip off.

Host Tim Wonnacott shouted over the scene: “Oh crikey Moses, he is [stripping]!”

Celebrity Antiques Road Trip continues tomorrow on BBC Two at 7pm.
