The pair made their way across the south west of England in a bid to turn a profit at auction in Hampshire.
However, one moment stood out to viewer when a dealer appeared to almost faint after Ian’s battering overstepped the mark.
After being turned down for their price on an earlier item, expert Margie Cooper was on hand to offer Ian some advice.
Speaking to dealer Colin on his behalf, Margie said: “Out of the corner of my eye I spotted that colourful little tea set down there. Is that yours? That’s very sweet isn’t it.”
Before she could enquire any further, the store owner chirped: “How about £55 for the lot?”
Shocked, Margie gasped: “Oh god, I haven’t said I want it yet.”
Unimpressed with her response, the dealer jibed: “Oh, how about not £55 for the lot?”
Hoping to make an impression on expert Margie, dancer Ian piped in with a new offer.
Looking at the dealer, who he had earlier compared to Frankie Howerd, Ian said: “What about £35?”
His offer shocked the seller who fell backwards and shrieked: “Oh!”
Seeing his move was only in jest, Ian added: “You know we’ve got to make a profit on this Colin!”
The dealer was in a good mood and replied: “You know what, I’ll go in the middle for you at £45.”
Margie wasn’t content and added: “£40 Colin, come on!” before he gave in and said: “Alright, £40 because I’m nice.”
Ecstatic with his new purchase, Ian gushed: “Yes! I love you Colin,” as the dealer replied: “I hope you do.”
