Casualty: Eagle-eyed viewer spots Connie’s epic mobile phone FAIL

In the closing seconds of the episode, Connie Beauchamp (played by Amanda Mealing) was seen making a phone call on her mobile phone.

She was heard asking the person on the other end of the phone: “I’d like to request a visiting order, please. Stephanie Sims.”

However, Connie appeared to have actually forgotten to press the green call button to connect the line, which one viewer pointed out.

“I think you have to press the green call button before speaking. @BBCCasualty,” posted the viewer cheekily, along with a screenshot of the scene.

Tonight’s episode of the BBC soap proved to be a compelling watch as Connie went on the warpath and took her colleague Elle Gardner (Jaye Griffiths) to a disciplinary hearing at the General Medical Council for gross medical negligence while treating her young daughter Grace (Emily Carey).

Connie was hellbent on destroying Elle’s medical career and getting her discredited, even bringing along legal representation to take the doctor down.

However, Connie changed her mind after witnessing Elle save Grace’s life when the young schoolgirl had a suspected epileptic fit and cut major arteries after falling onto shards of glass.

When she returned to the hearing, Connie confessed to the panel that she had been blinded by grief after her daughter had sustained life-changing injuries as a consequence of the car accident and subsequent helicopter crash at Holby City Hospital.

The case was dismissed but Elle was far from happy about her name being dragged through the mud and Connie’s relentless vendetta against her.

“I’m no clinical lead. I came back into medicine for the patients. The rest of it… it’s all yours,” Elle told Connie, giving her a wither look as she hinted that she would be leaving.

Meanwhile, it looked like Connie’s heart-to-heart with ex-boyfriend Jacob Masters (Charles Venn) had an effect on her and she was seen calling the prison where Steph Sims (Tonicha Lawrence) was being held.

It appears thay a confrontation between the two women is going to be on the cards in Casualty in an upcoming episode as Connie faces her demons.

As viewers will remember, Steph ran Connie off the road in a fit of jealousy last year that saw the Emergency Department Head and Grace plunge off the side of a cliff and down a ravine.

The car crash then led into the 30th anniversary special last year, which ended in a deadly helicopter crash.

Casualty continues on BBC One next Saturday at 7.55pm.
