Broadchurch season 3: Will Trish remember her attacker as she returns to the crime scene?

In a short video released by ITV today, Trish played by (Julie Hesmondhalgh) will be taken back to Axehampton House by the police to see if it will jog her memory.

During the 40-second clip, she is seen walking through the rooms of the stately home accompanied by her support worker Beth Latimer (Jodie Whittaker) and police officers Alex Hardy (David Tennant) and (Ellie Miller).

Trish looks uncertain as Beth asks her: “How are you doing?” It is clearly the first time she has returned to the house since the fateful night of the party.

“Will you stay close to me?” Trish asks Beth as the group make their way through the building and she re-traces her steps.

The scene then cuts back to the night of the party and for the first time viewers see a different side to Trish, a vivacious and happy woman.

She is seen picking up a glass of champagne as she walks in, before spotting her estranged husband Ian (Charlie Higson) and his new girlfriend.

As she makes a swift beeline across the room and away from the couple, she compliments her boss Ed Burnett (Sir Lenny Henry) on his smart attire.

There is suddenly a scream as Cath Atwood (Sarah Parish) bursts into the scene and runs excitedly towards Trish to give her a big hug.

The camera cuts back to the present and Trish is heard saying: “I was so happy that night.”

They continue to walk around the premises in the hope that she will remember something about the rapist.

While it is not known whether Trish will remember, it looks like viewers will see more flashbacks that could point the finger at other suspects.

Last night’s episode of the ITV hit drama saw taxi driver Clive Lucas (Sebastian Armesto) put in the frame after he repeatedly lied to the police about his whereabouts on the night of the party.

However, he is just one name on a very long list of suspects which also includes mechanic Jim Atwood (Mark Bazely), Ed and Ian, among others.

Even Ellie’s teenage son Tom Miller (Adam Wilson) was potentially on the list after he was seen watching porn on his phone, which may even have been footage of the attack.

Broadchurch continues on Mondays on ITV at 9pm.
