The London-based musician won the public vote last night after his spine-tingling performance on the ITV contest, earning himself a spot in this weekend’s final.
Dixon, 38, explained: “I was so pleased Tokio came first, I absolutely love him and if he won the whole show I would be over the moon.
“I couldn’t say enough good things about him, I was chuffed.”
But she also sympathised with viewers’ outrage after teen singer Sarah Ikumu failed to make it through to the next round.
The 15-year-old lost out on the second final spot to nine-year-old comic, Ned Woodman.
Comparing Ikumu to singer Jennifer Hudson, Dixon said: “I was very surprised and very shocked that Sarah didn’t go through, and I can only guess that maybe she is so good that the public thought she was safe.
“But it’s not necessarily the end for Sarah as there is still the wildcard, and I am sure that whatever happens it will work out okay for her.”
The mother-of-one also commented on her much talked-about costumes for the show, which have seen her opt for some particularly revealing dresses so far.
Her favourite frock of the season so far, she said, was Tuesday’s bright yellow mini dress, which viewers compared to a Quality Street wrapper.
But she admitted that she has yet to pick an outfit for the big showdown, which was recently moved from its Sunday slot to Saturday, to make may for coverage of the One Love Manchester concert.
“We discussed it between us and agreed it was the right decision,” Dixon said of the shift.
“I am really pleased ITV decided to make that final call. It feels respectful, and we all want to watch the concert as well – the whole nation wants to be a part of that moment.”
As well as picking outfits for the nightly shows this week, Dixon has also been busy opening London’s new Powerpuff Girls Emporium, based on the all-girl Cartoon Network superhero trio.
It will be open to families until Saturday, offering various games and activities and even a chance to see live snakes.
After visiting with her daughter, Azura, she said: “For me the Powerpuff Girls are the original ambassadors of girl power and they are great role models.
“There is a lack of women superheroes on television, studies show that less than one in 10 TV superheroes are female, and we need to address that balance.
“It’s important for girls to know there are no limitations to what we can achieve, so whether it’s a cartoon for children, whether it’s Theresa May, whether it’s Wonder Woman, every little message helps.”
Dixon added that she will be working with the network on “something very special” later this year.
