Bill Paxton FINISHED filming new TV series Training Day before shock death aged 61

CBS, the network distributing the show, said that shooting had already wrapped up in December 2016.

Yesterday, Bill’s family confirmed that the father-of-two had died from complications from heart surgery.

The much-loved star had been starring as Detective Frank Roarke in the crime-thriller, which is a follow-up to the 2001 film of the same name with Denzel Washington.

The first of 13 commissioned episodes began airing earlier this month. CBS will continue to air the nine remaining programmes.

The network released a statement offering their condolences to Bill’s family, which read: “Television will also remember a guy who lit up every room with infectious charm, energy and warmth, and as a great storyteller who loved to share entertaining anecdotes and stories about his work.”

The actor was best known for his roles in film including Twister, Titanic as well as Ridley Scott’s Aliens. He also won an Emmy Award for Hatfield and McCoys.

Last night at the 89th Academy Awards ceremony, Friends star Jennifer Aniston paid tribute to Bill.

As she introduced the emotional In Memoriam segment, Jennifer said: “Tonight, as we celebrate together we also take a moment to mourn the many legends that we lost this past year.

“Whether they were a musical Prince, leading the revolution on a concert stage, or a movie Princess, leading the rebellion in a galaxy far, far away; a force of nature in front of the camera, or a force driving it. Each and every one was a cherished member of our Hollywood family.”

The 48-year-old struggled to hold back tears as she continued: “As was beloved actor and friend who left us just yesterday, Bill Paxton. All were loved and all will be missed.”
