BBC News: Dan Walker stunned as 'psychic' cat runs RIOT – 'You’re not doing it deaf cat'

Football fans will surely remember Paul the Octopus who was used within the 2010 World Cup.

Paul was used as a tool to predict who would win in each football match.

BBC Breakfast’s presenters revealed Russia’s answer to Paul this morning, in the form of a deaf cat.

However the clip that they played didn’t show off much psychic prowess, as Achilles – the cat – avoided doing its job.

Dan said: “Achilles lives in the Hermitage museum in St. Petersburg.

“There are two bowls of cat food there with flags of who are playing each other.

“Whichever bowl he nibbles from, that is apparently his prediction for the game.

The clip of the cat was played over the presenters showed Achilles refusing to nibble from either of the bowls.

He eventually jumped onto the nearby cardboard box, avoiding the food entirely.

Dan commented: “He doesn’t look particularly interested in this excellent game.”

Louise chimed in saying: “If they put a labrador in that position it would not be hanging about at all, would it?”

“The cat is not playing ball there at all, is it?” Dan laughed.

“You know exactly what to do there, you deaf cat.

“You’re not doing it.”

The presenters laughed before moving on with the show.

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One.
