BBC Breakfast: Viewers stunned by unbelievable coincidence ‘You couldn't make it up’

BBC Breakfast presenters Charlie Stayt and Tina Daheley spoke to a lot of drivers who were stuck on motorways this morning, as they illustrated the issues caused by the severe weather.

However rural life has also been affected greatly, as the presenters revealed when they swung over to their next guest to discuss the issues that have arisen around farming.

Tina segued into the next segment, saying: “The severe weather is also causing major problems for farmers – we can go live now to County Durham.”

But BBC Breakfast viewers were completely stunned by the guest’s name, which was a coincidence almost too good to be true.

“We’re speaking to Alison Lamb about lambing,” Tina began.

Alison went on to discuss her current struggles, saying: “The biggest challenges for us are making sure the lambs are safe, and fed, and watered.”

But as the farmer discussed the hardships that she is currently facing due to the weather, viewers on Twitter could not help but discuss the lamb farmer’s name.

One viewer asked: “Did she just say Alison Lamb? #bbcbreakfast.”

While another announced: “Best name for a guest ever on @BBCBreakfast – Mrs Lamb the sheep farmer.”

A third was elated with the revelation, as they added: “There’s a Woman called Alison Lamb on #BBCBreakfast. She’s a sheep farmer and talking about Lambing. You couldn’t make it up.”

Alison detailed the process of lambing, whereby the farmers birth the new season’s animals.

Tina may have also been distracted by Alison’s surname, as she proceeded to asked a question that baffled viewers.

She pondered: “It’s not like you can delay [lambing], can you?”

One confused fan tweeted: “@BBCBreakfast Interview with ‘Farmer Lamb’ was painful. ‘Can you delay lambing?’ Hmmm. #bbcbreakfast.”

Another viewer echoed this sentiment: “Asking a farmer if she can delay lambing! What a question (sic).”

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One.
