The Great British Bake Off 2018 was back on screens tonight with Bread Week.
The third episodes in the new run of the Channel 4 series saw the bakers take to the tent for three bread-related challenges.
Their Signature challenge was Chelsea Buns, the Technical was a batch of garlic naan bread and the Showstopper was to create a tiered Korovai, which is an eastern European celebration bread.
In the end, Antony was sent home and Rahul was named Star Baker for the second week in a row.
What is the theme for Week 4 on Bake Off 2018?
Next week’s theme on The Great British Bake Off 2018 is Dessert Week.
The official synopsis for the episode reads: “It’s Dessert Week and judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood have set three sticky challenges to test the remaining nine bakers.
“There is a cracking meringue Signature; a wobbly Technical that breaks the mould; and a complex chocolate Showstopper that promises to reveal all.
“Which bakers impress Prue and Paul enough to keep their place in the tent? And who will be heading home?”
Next week, the bakers will be attempting a Roulade for their Signature Challenge.
A roulade is a type of sponge cake rolled around some kind of cream filling.
The rolling of the cake is the tricky part as the dough can crack or break.
For the Technical challenge, the bakers will be using moulds to bake a “tricky” dessert that will need to set in time.
In the promo for next week, it looks like ether jelly moulds or bundt tins are being used.
And for their Showstoppers, the bakers will be making melting chocolate creations that are set to see tensions raised in the heat of the tent.
The promo shows the bakers attempting to build towers of what looks like tempered chocolate shapes and spheres, complete with melting chocolate to reveal even more surprises inside.
However, the bakes will have to deal with warm temperatures in the tent affecting their chocolate which could end up melting in all the wrong places.
The last Dessert Week was in 2016 when the bakers were challenged to make a roulade for the Signature, a Marjolaine for the Technical and ice cream mousse cakes for the Showstopper.
The Bakers left are Ruby, Rahul, Kim-Joy, Manon, Terry, Karen, John, Briony and Dan.
The Great British Bake Off 2018 continues next Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4
