The Marvel epic has resulted in sections of the city being closed off, with a number of shops also shutting up.
One store, the Miss Katie Cupcake shop, has even been completely transformed into a kebab and pizza store.
Plot details of the movie are being kept well under wraps, and it’s also not clear which cast members specifically will be shooting in the Scottish capital.
It comes after production kicked off earlier this year, with stars and studio bigwigs releasing a short behind-the-scenes video to tease fans.
It’s been speculated that the two-part movie could be Chris Evans’s final appearance as Captain America under his current contract.
In a piece for Esquire, writer Maximillian Potter did not quote the star as saying he is intent on quitting as planned once his six-picture deal is up, but certainly alluded heavily towards it.
He wrote at the start of his feature: “Settling in on the couch, he groans. Evans explains that he’s hurting all over because he just started his workout routine the day before to get in shape for the next two Captain America films.
“The movies will be shot back to back beginning in April.
“After that, no more red-white-and-blue costume for the thirty-five-year-old. He will have fulfilled his contract.”
The all-star cast includes Robert Downey Jr, Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen – among many others.
Avengers: Infinity War is out on May 4, 2018.
