Avengers 4 makers WARN fans of 'Intense Captain America arc' before 'Thanos KILLS him'

Fans have twelve months to wipe their tears, strengthen their resolve and then prepare for yet more heartbreak.

Infinity War is still busy devastating audiences worldwide (and racking up record-breaking box office figures) but there is even more drama to come in Avengers 4.

In a recent interview the writers refererred to Captain America’s “intense” storyline and now a picture is emerging of just how dark his arc will be. Some pictures have already also leaked of the cast filming which throw up tantalising hints for what is to come.

The fact that even the writers are referring to Steve Rogers as the Captain and not as his current incarnation as Nomad feeds in to the swirling reports that the final film features scenes set in the past, whether in an alternate timeline or time travel.

What happens back “then” promises to bring Steve and the poor fans a new level of pain…

New leaks from the Avengers 4 production in Atlanta which, if proved correct, signal the end for one of the biggest stars in the franchise.

The post said: “I was told that at one point bearded Steve and Thor have a fight scene against Thanos where Thor gets blown away and Cap actually ends up weilding Mjolnir because he has finally been found worthy.

“However I was told that Thanos does end up killing Cap.”

AVENGERS 4: IS LOKI STILL ALIVE? WAS THAT ALL ANOTHER TRICK?

This definitely corresponds with earlier declarations from the filmmakers that they had planned a scene where Steve Rogers finally uses Thor’s mighty hammer.

A humorous scene in Avengers Age of Ultron already showed the gathered team joking about who could lift it, while another scene showed Hulk shocked to find even his extraordinary strength wasn’t enough.

Of course, that is because it is not simply about the weight of the weapon. In an echo of the King Arthur Excalibur myth, it is the mystical requirement to be found “worthy” that determines who can wield it.

Odin’s enchantment declared: “Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.”

Few would argue that the honourable and selfless Steve Rogers is the perfect candidate. As for the fact that Mjolnir was actually destroyed in Thor Ragnarok, if Avengers 4 does indeed feature scenes set in some sort of past timeline, then much can be rewritten.

The heartbreaking core of the leak, though, is unavoidable. Even with the “power of Thor” Captain falls to Thanos.

It is widely expected that Iron Man will die in Avengers 4 but it’s not just Robert Downey Jr who is nearing the end of his contract. Many of the original Avengers are looking certain to leave the MCU as the stars’ contracts expires and their characters reach the satifying end of full character arcs.

But there is a glimmer of hope buried in this terrible leak…

Will Captain America really fall to Thanos?

The biggest hope for fans lies with the comment about a “bearded” Captain America. On set shots from Avengers 4 have shown a clean-cut, clean-shaven Captain America.

The leak comes from Reddit user ilurkthings who also posted about infinity War with mixed results. Fans will be hoping that his latest post will NOT be true…

Only one thing is sure, it will not be the last leak, spoiler or theory to consume us all for the next twelve months.
