Ariana Grande tour ‘suspended’: Singer calls off concerts after Manchester terror attack?

Grande is due to perform at London’s O2 Arena on Thursday and Friday, May 25 and 26.

The O2’s Twitter account posted overnight: “Ariana is due to perform at The O2 on Thursday and Friday and we will advise as soon as we can as to the status of those shows.”

They had previously written: “Along with everyone else, we are shocked and saddened by the terrible tragedy in Manchester. Our thoughts are with those affected.”

The London dates would be the last in the UK, before the jaunt moved to Belgium on Sunday, May 28, and off through Europe.

As for Manchester Arena, much of their upcoming slate is expected to be scrapped in the wake of the bombing.

Take That were due at the venue on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to resume their Wonderland Live tour, after initially being at the same Arena late last week.

Gary Barlow tweeted this morning: “Sad, sad news from Manchester. Praying for all the victims and families involved.”

Howard Donald wrote as the news was first breaking: “I’m really hoping the casualties are not as many as it’s displaying all over the news. Sending out love and strength to all #Manchesterarena.”

Musicians flocked to Twitter to express their shock and support, with Lorde posting: “every musician feels sick & responsible tonight—shows should be safe for you. truly a worst nightmare. sending love to manchester & ari.”

Taylor Swift also returned to social media to say: “My thoughts, prayers and tears for all those affected by the Manchester tragedy tonight. I’m sending all my love.”
