Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton were last seen together at the Trooping the Colour last weekend.
While Kate stunned in a blue dress with a large floral hat, Meghan opted for an off-the-shoulder 50s inspired pink gown.
Both women appeared with their respective husbands on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the official ceremony of the Queen’s birthday.
They have appeared together on a handful of occasions, but are they friends?
A body language expert told Express.co.uk their professional opinion on the pair’s burgeoning relationship.
She specifically pointed out Meghan’s “mirroring” of the Duchess of Cambridge, an act where someone subconsciously copies another.
According to Judi James, from London, this is an attempt by the Duchess of Sussex to embed her self in the Royal Family.
She said: “Meghan’s mirroring of Kate currently involves wardrobe and body language mimicry and this reflects a degree of submission to show a desire for rapport and team acceptance.”
Elements of Meghan’s wardrobe have taken on an air of Kate’s, she sad.
“In this respect we have the nude court shoes, the satellite hats and those small clutch bags held in front of the torso in a very signature ‘Middleton’ style,” Judi added.
However, Judi revealed this sort of behaviour may be a bid to begin a deeper friendship.
She claims that acting like another can help to build a relationship between two people, before initiating a closer relationship.
The expert added: “By also mirroring Kate’s elegant two-handed clutch bag pose this could form a trio of body language techniques known as mirror – pace – lead.
“This is where you mirror the other person to create rapport and empathy before ‘leading’ them into more strongly bonded displays of shared laughter or touch.”
