April The Giraffe: This Morning zookeeper makes bold accusation over mother

April has captured the hearts of millions since she became the star of her very own live stream, hoping to capture the moment she finally gives birth to her already infamous offspring.

Mother giraffe’s can carry their young for up to 15 months, but April was beaten to the post by a rare Rothschild giraffe named Orla, who gave birth at Chester zoo on Monday.

Orla’s keeper appeared on This Morning where she made a bold claim about April, who is being looked after at the Animal Adventure Park in upstate New York.

Explaining why April is still awaiting the arrival of her young at the Big Apple zoo, the keeper suggested The Animal Adventure Park have muddled up their star attraction’s due dates.

The latest dispatch revealed: “Corey noted some changes this evening. April’s backend has some significant ‘bulging’ occurring.

“She was very ‘with it’ but then became very distracted and as Corey put it, ‘would have walked right through me’.

“Though sounding intimidating, this behavior is what we will see – consistently – when in active labour.

“She will walk through her strong contractions and push, push, push….

“All else is well and fresh air and the outdoors were enjoyed at length today.”

This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
