Antiques Roadshow expert stunned by price of rare collection of watches ‘This is serious’

“They are seriously cool watches. The Hauer at auction; £8,000-£12,000. The Rolex at auction today, minimum £15,000-£20,000. Possibility £20,000-£30,000.

“So you picked the coolest, best watches you could probably bring to the Antiques Roadshow!” Ben remarked.

“Very pleased,” the gentleman said. “[The valuation] came out much better than I thought. I thought I would just find out a little bit about the history and maybe £1,000 maybe because they’re quite big names. Not that kind of money – that’s crazy!”
