Antiques Road Trip HALTED as Phil Serrell left injured in chaotic deal – 'My back!'

Phil Serrell was on the hunt for the perfect item to take to the final auction when he stumbled across an old cigarette advertisement high on the wall.

As he shouted seller Dave over to ask the price, the dealer was not looking where he was going, which turned out to be a mistake in a crowded antiques shop.

Phil almost face-planted the floor as he tripped over an item leaving Dave in disbelief.

He exclaimed: “Oh, I can feel a claim coming on!

“My back, my back!” the expert cried while trying to wrangle the price down some more.

Phil settled on £55 for the rusty sign, joking: “It should have a health warning but lets hope it doesn’t have a wealth warning.”

It wasn’t the only thing that went wrong for him in Dave’s shop, as he failed to navigate his way around the cluttered store.

He knocked over several items as he went through every nook and cranny, leaving no stone unturned.

The pain was worth it however, as the sign made an impressive £10 profit when it went to auction.

Antiques Road Trip airs weekdays on BBC One at 4.30pm.
