Antiques Road Trip: Anita Manning SNAPS at Charles Hanson ‘Calm yourself man!’

Expert Anita joined Charles in a Triumph Stag, hunting out hidden gems in the antique shops of west Scotland.

Both are seasoned trippers with plenty of wins under their belts, but also both keen to beat each other to win the show.

During the episode they found out about Glasgow’s famous fire-fighting dog, before discovering how the area once had the biggest sewing machine factory in the world.

Ending up at an auction in Hamilton, Charles couldn’t contain his excitement any longer.

The final lot of the day for Charles was a possible Georgian glass, costing the valuation expert a total of £60.

With a starting bid of £50, Charles said: “I don’t believe it!”

He continued: “It’s a good thing. A good thing this! It’s a good glass.”

As the value reached over £90, Charles gasped: “I’m in business, have a glass, have a glass,” while shaking his hands and mimicking drinking out of the Georgian glass.

Anita held onto her rival and quipped: “Calm yourself man!” as the auction hammer came down at £100.

A shocked Charles added: “I’m good to go now,” before offering Anita a celebratory drink.
