
Ryan’s horror show has been thrilling fans for seven years.
It seems the show is about to have a drizzle of fabulous added to it as Joan, 84, has been welcomed to the ever-expanding family.
The writer revealed earlier this week he was going to “throw in” Joan when the popular anthology series returns.
He also teased to The Hollywood Reporter Anjelica Huston could be making a surprise appearance as well.
Ryan confessed: “I’m still working on it.
“And I don’t want to do anything unless I’m 100 per cent sure.”
As is the usual, Ryan has kept very quiet about what the hugely-anticipated eighth season will be about.
With each series looking at a different theme, reports have suggested American Horror Story will be going to the future.
When asked if the upcoming season will be called “Radioactive”, as has been suggested, Ryan remained coy.
He teased: “It’s an interesting idea.
“I can neither confirm nor deny.”
Dylan McDermott, who has kept a regular role in American Horror Story since UEAR, has also added fuel to the fire.
He tweeted a fan who asked when he will be back on the series: “In the near future…”

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Kathy Bates will take the lead roles in the upcoming season.
Ryan previously hinted at what’s the come from the currently untitled instalment.
He said: “I think we’ve never done a season like it. It’s all very, very dark but very funny.”
Fans are desperate to know if Lady Gaga will return to the anthology series following her award-winning turn in Hotel.
She has starred in Roanoke as well so the bets are on for whether she will star in season eight.
American Horror Story can currently be streamed on Netflix.
