Alex Jones breaks down in tears as Matt Baker quits The One Show in emotional scenes

Alex began: “Tonight, the man I am talking about the man who has sat here on this sofa for the past 10 years.

“He is joining me from home on his last day at The One Show, it’s Matt.

“Matt this is all so weird because we had a big celebration planned there were going to be nibbles there were going to be drinks and hangovers but now we are not doing any of it because like everyone around the country, we are making the best of a bad situation.

Matt explained: “To be honest with you, this is not essential travel for me to come in and say goodbye when I can do it from here.
