A Russian Aeroflot passenger plane flying from Zurich to Moscow has diverted back to Zurich due to “unforeseen” difficulties, said a spokesman for Kloten airport, Maurus Stocker, as quoted by local media. Fire brigades are reportedly at the scene.

Aeroflot flight SU2391 is returning to Kloten International Airport in Zurich, Stocker said, as quoted by Swiss 20 Minuten newspaper.

The Airbus A321 is now burning fuel to return to the airport, according to Swiss news website, Watson.ch.

According to the Swiss source, there has been a fire in the plane’s left engine. It also said an air traffic control agency Skyguide “has confirmed the incident on request.”
