A demolition in Denmark went badly wrong last week when a 174-foot silo collapsed the wrong way and crushed the building next to it.

The disused silo in Vordingborg, eastern Denmark, was supposed to fall neatly onto a cleared landing zone on Friday, but didn’t work onto an adjacent green space, but accidentally fell the wrong way.

Nobody was injured. The cultural centre, which consists of a library and music school, reported structural damage to one side of the building.

Danish explosives authorities said preparations for the demolition appeared to be correct, The Guardian reported, citing local media. Town officials plan to investigate, the Vordingborg.net news site reported.

Photos posted by the library on Facebook also showed books, documents, and computers had been knocked from the shelves. Most of the library’s interior was undamaged but very dusty, the library said.
