Google Maps is often used by people wanting to see the world from their seat, whilst catching some weird and wonderful sights.
It can also capture some shocking images that end up solving a crime.
Eagle-eyed viewers once spotted a submerged car that ended up being part of a missing person case.
It isn’t the only example of a mystery being solved.
The Google Maps street view car also helped police solve a crime whilst in Middlesbrough, UK.
A young woman can be seen leaving a Savers shop on the high street.
She holds a large Sports Direct bag under her arm as she is leaving, along with her own handbag.
As she leaves the shop, she quickly picks up the pace.
Suddenly, she is running down the high street as a man from the shop appears to chase after her.
It has since emerged that the woman is actually a shoplifter and thanks to Google Maps, was caught.
The woman, named Tammy McIvor, 30, was accused of stealing £60 worth of household goods and ended up pleading guilty in court.
She was given a year-long community as part of her punishment, according to The Gazette.
Another “crime” was also spotted on Google Maps on Edinburgh road.
The Street View car spotted a man lying face down on the floor, whilst a man is next to him with a pickaxe.
A Google Street View user then contacted the police after spotting the shocking image.
Yet the scary image has a much more hilarious reason behind it.
