Hurricane Ophelia: Flights at Dublin Airport axed – travellers may be delayed by a WEEK

Hurricane Ophelia, which is hours away from hitting Ireland, has caused an airline to cancel its flights to and from Dublin airport.

Deric Ó hArtagáin, an Irish weatherman, tweeted a screen grab of the announcement from KLM airlines.

The statement read: “Due to a hurricane Ophelia in Ireland, some of our flight schedules may be temporarily disrupted.

“If you have booked a flight to, from or via Dublin (DUB) and Belfast (BHD) on 16 October 2017, please see below rebook and refund options we can offer you.”

Those looking to fly to or from Dublin or Belfast tomorrow who booked their flight yesterday or beforehand, should check to see if their flight has been cancelled and to look for other options.

The airline has said that the next date passengers can fly on should not be any later than 23 October, a potential delay of a week.

Weatherman Deric Ó hArtagáin worte: “Wakey wakey @DublinAirport Dutch airline KLM has now cancelled schedule flights to/from Ireland tomorrow #ophelia”.

Dublin Aiport tweeted earlier: “Passengers are advised to check latest flight information with their airline before coming to @DublinAirport tomorrow #Ophelia”.

Express.co.uk has contacted KLM for more information on cancelled flight.
