Prince William went on all-boys holiday to this country during Kate Middleton split

Prince William, 36, has been married to his wife Kate Middleton, 36, since 2011.

The royal couple first met while studying at St Andrews University, before breaking up in 2007.

A book, titled, The Duchess of Cambridge: How Kate Middleton Became A Future Queen, suggested they also broke up briefly in 2004.

William chose to then go on a sailing holiday during that summer without her, and with his friend Guy Pelly, godfather to Prince Louis.

The royal set sail with his best friend and an all-female crew around Greece, which reportedly left the Duchess feeling “miserable”.

Just 22 years old at the time, William wanted a break during the summer at the end of university and before graduation.

During the all-boys holiday, he had “a lot of drinking and a lot of fun,” according to the Mail Online at the time.

A source told the paper: “William had a great holiday with the boys.”

Kate then headed to Berkshire with her parents to get over the brief separation.

The couple later got back together that year, only to split up again in 2007.

This time, Kate chose to travel abroad to get over the break-up and chose to visit Dublin.

She was joined by her mother Carol Middleton and was spotted at an art gallery of a friend.

Kate met Gemma Billington, an Irish artist at the Urban Retreat Gallery, as well as visited the National Gallery of Ireland.

Thankfully despite splitting in March that year, they were back together by June, with an engagement announced three years later.

The royal couple have since travelled the world together on both private holidays and official overseas tours.

They both enjoy travelling, with Kate spending a summer in Florence before university while William chose to travel to Africa.

Kate and William also go on an annual ski trip as well as a private holiday to Mustique, with rare images thanks to the highly guarded islands.

Last year, however, Kate was not happy with William was caught dancing in a nightclub during a ski holiday in Verbier, with a hand on a mystery woman’s waist.

Kate remained in the UK with their two children at the time and the Royal Family.
