Kate Middleton and Prince William teach children to do this when travelling

Kate Middleton, 36, and Prince William, 36, usually travel together as a couple when abroad on official tours overseas.

But on William’s recent trip to South Africa, Kate stayed at home, due to being on maternity leave.

Their three children Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and Prince Louis, five months, will also usually join them if the trip is especially long, with the youngest royal yet to travel with them.

However, there is one thing the royal couple do which their children have begun to copy.

The pair both wave with their dominant hands when meeting members of the public.

Kate is right-handed while William is left-handed, making it easy for them both to wave when close to each other.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte have both joined the couple on overseas visits, with the pair travelling on a five-day tour of Germany and Poland as well as to Canada.

They too have perfected the royal wave which they show off when boarding the plane.

But it seems Prince George takes after his father and is left-handed, according to the Duchess of Cambridge who found out while playing tennis.

This means George will most likely wave with his left hand as he grows up.

Prince William previously expressed his desire for his son to be left-handed, so he can be a “brainbox,” a common belief of many due to the prevalence of writers and musicians who used their left hand.

Princess Charlotte also often waves with her left hand and may be following in her father and brother’s footsteps.

Many have praised the sweet actions of the younger royals after waving at the paparazzi which they have no doubt picked up from their parents.

The royal wave, also known as the Windsor wave, has also been perfected by the newest member of the Royal Family.

Meghan Markle showed off her royal wave during her wedding, as she greeted the crowd following the ceremony.

The 37-year-old will most likely show off her newest etiquette training when undertaking her first overseas tour this month.

She will join her husband Prince Harry to New Zealand, Australia, Fiji and Tonga for 16 days.

The trip will coincide with the Commonwealth Games in Sydney, which Harry created in 2014.
