WATCH: Heart-stopping moment pod of humpback whales NARROWLY misses paddle boarder

Video taken from a bird’s eye view has captured the jaw-dropping moment a paddle boarder is almost knocked off their board by an enormous whale.

The footage showed a pod of humpbacks rising out of the depths of the ocean.

Floating on the surface was a paddle boarder sitting in their board, which paled in comparison.

As the whales zoomed upwards through the water, one of them moved threateningly close to the board.

The humpback breached extremely close to the person, only just missing knocking them off the paddle board altogether.

Three other whales swam around the scene, which unfolded in Maui, Hawaii.

The incredible video has gone viral since it was shared online.

It’s received 3.8 million views on Magic Nature’s Facebook, with more than 1,000 comments.

One Facebook user wrote: “I would’ve had a heart attack on something that small” while another shared: “Awesome but scary!”

Deb Woodruff commented: “Ah, good to be alive at times liKe this. MAGIC!”

Josh Fey wrote: “This looks incredible. It would be exhilarating but I’m sure I’d be scared.”

The video was taken by Facebook user Uheheu, a photographer in Hawaii, US
