WATCH: Norwegian Air’s £69 flights to New York subject of viral RANT by comedian

Low-cost airline Norwegian announced a series of new transatlantic flights from five UK and Ireland cities.

The budget carrier will be offering passengers travelling to the USA – including flights to New York – from just £69 one way. Or €69 if travelling from an Irish airport.

Norwegian will launch ten new routes from Edinburgh, Belfast, Cork, Shannon and Dublin.

The announcement saw hoards of travellers going to the airline’s website in a frenzy bid to bag the bargain flights to the Big Apple.

And one comedian – Trevor Browne – has created a hilarious video ridiculing everyones’ reaction.

The footage begins with the Irish comic sitting at a desk in his office when he comes across Norwegian’s offer.

He immediately gets on the phone and tries to organise a spontaneous trip to New York.

He is heard saying: “€69 to New York?! Yeah Norwegian Airlines, I’ve never heard of them but I’m sure they’re grand.”

Trevor goes on to frantically justify his reasons behind wanting to go.

“It’s €69 to go to New York! Why wouldn’t you want to go to New York for €69???You’d pay €45 to go to Galway.

“Are you coming? We’ll go for one night and come back the next day, be grand.”

It soon becomes clear that the person on the other end is concerned about what his girlfriend would say.

And Trevor’s response to this is: “Don’t tell her, don’t tell her, just come. €69, come on!”

As the video goes on and no-one commits to going with poor Trevor to New York, he becomes increasingly frustrated.

The prices then start to rise – it goes from €69 to €125, to €400. It’s 3am and the flights are now over €800, yet this comic is still determined to go.

The footage then flips to a montage of Trevor going to New York by himself.

It shows him on the flight, watching a basketball game, in Times Square and even on Wall street before flashing back to him in the office very emotional – all whilst Alicia Keys’ New York plays in the background.
