Flight secrets have previously uncovered all manner of facts about planes that would disgust passengers if they knew the truth.
Throughout a day, one plane could see a number of flights with the airline constantly under pressure to ensure each flight leaves on time.
As such the aircraft may not be as clean as you might expect.
According to the World Health Organisation, passengers are more susceptible to getting ill whilst travelling.
Once the aircraft has landed and the passengers have disembarked, the cleaning crew set about tidying up the plane.
However, the majority of the time this means simply clearing away rubbish rather than disinfecting every surface that has come into contact with passengers.
According to Reddit, one flight attendant has revealed that passengers should never use the pockets attached to the seat in front.
The flight attendant explained: “They are cleared of rubbish but are never cleaned.”
“I have pulled out and seen all sorts of things being pulled out from there.
Dirty tissues, sick bags, knickers, socks, people’s feet (rest in the pocket), gum, half sucked sweets, apple cores… and then next flight you go and put your phone/laptop/iPad in there.”
With just the rubbish cleared from the pockets, there’s a good chance the nasty germs remain for the next passenger.
Previous flight secrets revealed that the plane floor is the dirtiest part of the plane.
Similarly to the seat pockets, the floor is cleared of rubbish but is never properly cleaned.
The cabin crew member explained: :The floor gets used and abused.
“People are walking all around that floor, bringing stuff in, taking stuff off, dropping things.”
Dispute this disgusting fact, passengers continue to stroll the cabin barefoot unaware of the gems feast under their toes.
Another attendant added: “Do not walk barefoot on that plane. Especially in the lavatory.”
A surprising number of passengers remove their shoes and socks in an attempt to make themselves as comfortable as possible.
The flight dinner trays are another plane feature that is not as clean as you might think.
A cabin crew member revealed that there is no guarantee that the trays are disinfected after each flight and advised passengers to always carry disinfectant on board.
