Completely redesigned for the 2018 model year, the second-generation GMC Terrain trades the prior model’s blocky styling and available V-6 engine for svelte—albeit somewhat polarizing—looks and a trio of turbocharged four-cylinder engines, including a fuel-efficient turbo-diesel. On the road, the Terrain prioritizes comfort over driver engagement, and its refined chassis provides the smooth serenity of a luxury vehicle. Although its wheelbase has shrunk by 5.2 inches, the new Terrain remains impressively roomy.
