The Legend of Zelda remains a key franchise for Nintendo, which helped launch the company’s latest console.
Having had to wait a long time to play it, 2017 finally saw the release of Zelda Breath of the Wild on Nintendo Switch.
And the popular continues to collect exciting new projects, as well as headlines, a year after launch.
It was recently revealed that Link’s latest adventure had won big at the 14th British Academy Games Awards in London.
Zelda Breath of the Wild was nominated in several different categories, emerging with the best Game Innovation award.
Super Mario Odyssey also claimed a gong during the show, with the 3D platformer from Nintendo winning best Game Design and Family category.
And while it seems likely that we will see new Super Mario Odyssey content launched in 2018, it appears we have reached the end of the road with Zelda Breath of the Wild.
But that doesn’t mean new and exciting side projects aren’t being worked on.
While not coming directly from Nintendo, new prints have been released that help celebrate the hit Nintendo Switch title.
Fernando Reza has released his latest art prints project including characters from a Nintendo franchise.
The new Zelda propaganda prints are available now and provide a stark contrast to what gamers may have seen from the original publisher.
Set much in the same style of the propaganda imagery from World War 2 used with the cast of Super Mario Bros, the new selection of designs cost $ 40 each.
The complete set of 17 will set you back around $ 400
This new selection of prints, 17 in total, cost $ 40 each but you can buy a complete set for $ 400. Take a look at all 17 in the gallery below.
The prints can be seen on frodesignco.com, however, and will include an International Shipping cost of $ 14.00 for those looking from the UK.
While the Japanese games giant look set to close the chapter on their latest big gaming hit, Link is set to appear in another new title.
It has now been confirmed that Super Smash Bros will be launching on Nintendo Switch in 2018.
Not only that, but the Link from BOTW will also feature as part of the roster. Not much is known about the new project, with just a short teaser shown to fans.
During it, we could clearly see the BOTW version of Link as one of the main fighters, alongside Mario and the Splatoon Inklings.
Nintendo have yet to confirm if it is a new game or another Wii U port.
However, it seems likely that this will be a new instalment in the franchise, meaning the Link character could have some new moves to show off.
Another game is also launching soon that will contain special items from Zelda Breath of the Wild.
While Link himself won’t be available in Phantasy Star Online 2: Cloud, the new Nintendo Switch game will feature some notable inclusions from the game.
So far we know that Link’s standard clothing from Breath of the Wild will be available, along with the Hylian Shield and Master Sword.
More is likely to be announced ahead of release, which unfortunately is only currently planned in Japan.
