Fans have been finding themselves unable to play videos on YouTube, on both normal content and their own channels.
Instead of clicking through to the content they want, users have been seeing YouTube Internal 500 Error messages instead.
These appear with a line of code and a purple monkey holding a hammer.
“Sorry something went wrong,” a message from YouTube reads.
“A team of highly trained monkeys are has been dispatched to deal with the situation.
“If you see them, send them this information as text (screenshots frighten them).”
The Google-owned company have not revealed what issues are causing problems for the YouTube servers tonight.
Fans are reporting that they are seeing the message periodically, meaning that it isn’t quite a full outage.
“I Can access other channels now but not my own. Still internal error,” one user wrote online.
YouTube have confirmed that there are problems with user channels tonight, writing on Twitter: “We’ve seen multiple reports from users that they are not able to access channels.
“We’re working to fix this issue.”
No ETA has been provided on when core YouTube services will be back to normal, although users will be hoping for a quick turnaround.
