‘You’re a millionaire!’ Piers Morgan grills Emily Thornberry on Labour ‘sneering’ at rich

“That’s really sad,” the presenter remarked and Emily continued: “It’s funny, a lot of the horrible stuff I don’t remember, but I remember the cats being put down.” 

After suggesting Emily had an “understanding of struggling”, she spoke about her education and how she doesn’t wish for any child to go through a similar thing to her. 

“There are more things to be honest, things like when we had free school dinners, we had to queue up separately. That was humiliating, I remember that even as a young child I was humiliated by that,” Emily began. 

“I was humiliated by low expectations, my careers advisor when I asked what could I do with my life he said I could always visit people in prison. 

“You know, I do have chips on both shoulder, so I have become very balanced.”
