Xbox One games you MUST buy this Christmas: PUBG, Cuphead, Witcher 3, Forza and more

may be lagging behind PS4 in the sales stakes, but the recent release of the Xbox One X has injected fresh life into the Microsoft system.

The same is true of the Xbox One S, which is one of the best looking consoles you can buy right now and regularly available in discounted bundles.

Microsoft also appears to be making more of an effort with its exclusive games, following a barren year for new releases.

Xbox One fans were treated to the excellent Cuphead earlier this autumn, followed by PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in December.

Both games have racked up huge sales in a short space of time, which is encouraging for the Xbox brand.

If you’re a little short on cash this Christmas, don’t forget that you can pick up free games as part of your Xbox Live Gold subscription.

And Microsoft has just announced the next batch of free Xbox One and Xbox 360 games to join the lineup.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III will be available on Xbox One from January 1 until January 31.

Ubisoft’s Zombi will join the Xbox One free games lineup on January 16. Subscribers will be able to download it until midnight on February 15.

Xbox 360 users will be able to pick up Tomb Raider Underworld from January 1 until January 15, followed by Army of Two from January 16 until January 31.

In the meantime, Xbox Gold subscribers can grab Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide and Back to the Future: The Game – 30th Anniversary Edition on Xbox One.

That’s on top of Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death on Xbox 360.

And don’t forget that Xbox 360 Games with Gold releases are also playable on Xbox One due to backwards compatibility.

Microsoft has made roughly 150 games backwards compatible in 2017, including a handful of original Xbox releases.
