The brunette beauty, 39, was apparently left “gutted” after she was stopped from performing with her finalist, Kevin Davy White, last year.
Now it seems that her place could be in jeopardy, paving the way for Cheryl, 34, to make a grand return in the judging role.
She reportedly raged at a Golden Globes afterparty last week: “Simon is so f**king last minute. We know in the same month that he announces it.
“We’ll see what happens,” Nicole is said to have told The Mirror.
An insider added to the publication that she seems to have Hollywood on the brain and was spotted chatting with “movie bigwigs” at the Amazon Studios party.
The source confessed: “Nicole was invited as a lot of important film people want to work with her.
“If she doesn’t go back to X Factor there will be lots of other opportunities.
“She’s one of those super-talented people who can sing, dance and act. She’s got it all and she’s up for different roles and jobs.”
The news comes after Louis Walsh told The Sun that he would be totally fine to see Cheryl return to the show.
The pair notoriously clashed during their stint together on X Factor, but it seems they could be about to end their feud.
Louis, 65, said: “If Cheryl comes back that’s fine.
“Look, we would agree to disagree on certain things but that’s what makes it good. We all get on.”
However, Louis admitted that he would rather see Nicole Scherzinger keep her job on the ITV talent show.
“Nicole is my favourite because of her work ethic,” he revealed.
Louis added: “She just gets into it and you never know what she’s going to say, do or wear. That’s why I love her and she brings a whole new energy to it.”
The X Factor is expected to return to ITV later this year.
