Each weekend at least two acts are now eliminated from the competition.
The popular 44-year-old presenter revealed how next week’s show will see a total of four contestants get the chop.
Dermot explained: “So that is it. Join us next week when hearts will be pounding as it’s a double elimination on both nights.
“Plus the sensational Paloma Faith is going to be here and on this stage we welcome home Mr Harry Styles.”
Revealing the theme, he continued: “We also celebrate a true legend as next week’s theme is George Michael. See you next Saturday.”
It comes as Tracy Leanne Jefford become the latest contestant to be sent home.
Sent home in the second weekend of live shows, Tracy said: “Well, I’m privileged to make the second week and I’ve had the best-est time of me life. It’s changed me life [sic].
“But I’m not going to stop. I will keep on going and going and going until I reach the top. Thank you for making my life change.”
The surprise elimination came moments after Kevin Davy White won this weekend’s prize fight.
While the decision was cheered by the audience, judge Simon Cowell was less than impressed that his own act Rak-Su didn’t win and appeared to mouth “bo****ks” in frustration.
The X Factor continues next Saturday on ITV at 7pm.
